The Benefits of Creating a Bump-Out Addition
There are many benefits to a bump-out addition. For starters, they typically cost less than a full addition. We can build just enough space for what you need, no more, no less. What also makes choosing a bump-out attractive is that we can build them to seamlessly blend into an existing structure so they appear to be original.
If your yard has mature trees, we can likely work around them to offer you more living or storage space without disturbing your tree canopy. We will assess your yard and home then offer our professional opinion on what type of addition would work well.
And last, with a bump-out addition you get the benefit of extra square footage without losing valuable yard space.
Bump-Out Addition Options
Bump-out additions are a unique way to expand the use of your home or existing garage.
You can update your kitchen by adding a bump-out of 2-3 extra feet. This may not sound significant, but if your kitchen is 15 feet wide, this smaller addition can provide an extra 30-45 square feet. You could create a beautiful kitchen island, expand your cooking space, or add a walk-in pantry. This same idea could be implemented in a bedroom or bathroom.
In a bedroom, a bump-out could provide enough room to add a cozy seating area or an expanded walk-in closet. In a bathroom, bump-out additions can provide more storage, additional counterspace and an extra sink, or even a free-standing tub.
And don’t forget the garage! Here, a bump-out addition can give you the space to add a workshop or more square footage for storage which can free up space inside of your home.
Cost to Build a Bump-Out Addition
Depending on where and how much square footage you want to add, the cost of a bump-out can vary, but it is a great alternative to a full-scale addition. For instance, if your bump-out is more involved, requiring significant foundation, plumbing, and electrical work, this would cost more than adding a smaller bump-out to a garage that is used only for storage.
Our design team will walk you through the best solution for your home, do a cost-benefit analysis, and come up with a concept that matches your style and needs.
Whatever you decide, Spaces Home Remodeling looks forward to building a creative space that you can be proud of.

Will a bump-out addition add value to my home?
The ROI for additions is quite high when compared to most other renovations because you are adding actual square footage to the home. Depending on the type of addition you build, some actually create an ROI higher than the investment itself. Design plays a big factor in this and should never be overlooked!
